Fingerprints will be stored as so-called “Tem-
plates” in the memory of the control unit. It is
not possible to re-construct complete
fi
nger-
print images from the templates, but to com-
pare two templates with each other.
The memory is organized like a relational da-
tabase, i.e. every
fi
ngerprint will be assigned
to a unique storage index (ID) number. Every
new
fi
ngerprint will be allocated to the next
available ID. The ID can also be assigned
manually during the enrolment.
It is recommended to keep a separate list of
the assigned ID numbers and reference it to
user names. This will enable you to delete or
overwrite individual templates very easily.
