Disconnect all power before installing or servicing

the heater. Failure to do so could result in personal

injury and/or property damage. All maintenance

and  installation  should  be  done  by  qualified

personnel in compliance with local codes.

MAINTENANCE

Low megohm on heating elements with epoxy or

hermetic  seals  cannot  be  serviced  in  the  field.

Typical  resistance  values  when  sealed  are  1000

megohm or greater.

26.0

Check that all connections are tight.

27.0

If a thermostat is provided, verify that it is operating properly

by cycling it and verifying cutout.

28.0

Perform an IR test prior to energization and verify that levels

are acceptable 500,000 ohms.

29.0

For adequate operation, always maintain the circulation

heater  with  the  minimum  design  flow  conditions  for  which  the

heater was designed.

30.0

Retorque  all  bolted  fitting  connections  and  all  electrical

connections after 10 cycles.

31.0

Always maintain a minimum of 2" (51 mm) of liquid above

the heated portion of the element or element failure may result.

32.0

Heaters stored for prolonged periods may absorb moisture.

Using a 500VDC megger (insulation resistance tester) check the

value of the insulation resistance to ground for each circuit. Initial

readings of over 500,000 ohms to ground are normally acceptable.

Should lower readings be observed, check factory for instructions.

33.0

Periodically check electrical connections for tightness and

check wire insulation for any damage and replace if necessary.

34.0

Remove the immersion heater periodically to inspect for

corrosion, sludge build-up and for scale removal. Discontinue use

if the heater shows signs of damage.

Note, the orientation of the flange or pipe plug relative to the vessel

before removal. Use a reference mark on the immersion heater

and vessel or draw a quick sketch showing the conduit connection

orientation, to ensure the proper orientation when re-installing.

35.0

Periodically check for leaks and torque of all bolted

connections.

Overtemperature devices in the heating bundles

are  specifically  located  based  on  process  and

heater design. Rotation of the bundles should be

avoided without consulting the manufacturer.

36.0

If a heater element is damaged (sheath rupture or electrical),

user must consult factory for further advice.

37.0

Heater  output  can  be  verified  by  loop  current  draw  or

resistance check. If heater is not operating properly, user must

verify resistance, IR resistance to check integrity of heater

elements.

38.0

All returning product to the factory must be totally clean and

a copy of the MSDS of the process fluid/gas must accompany the

product.

CCI Thermal Technologies Inc. warrants to the purchaser of each new product that any part thereof which proves to be defective in

material or workmanship under normal use within 18 months of the date of shipment or 12 months from the date of start of operation

(whichever occurs first) will be repaired or replaced without charge. Any such defect should be brought to the attention of the company’s

office from which the product was purchased, which is authorized to furnish or replacement within the terms of this warranty.

The Company will not be responsible for any expenses incurred in installation, removal from service, transportation cost, or damages of

suitability of our products when used alone or in combination with other products. Tests for safety and suitability of the products should

be done by the user.

This warranty will not apply if, in the judgement of the Company damage or failure has resulted from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse

or operation on an incorrect power supply. The foregoing is in lieu of other warranties expressed or implied. CCI Thermal Technologies

liability in connection with the said product.

Since the paint finish may be damaged in use, no warranty applies to such paint finish except for manufacturing defects which become

apparent within 30 days from date of installation.

Heaters are not guaranteed against damage caused by corrosion.
