Chapter 2 

Preparing the Cabinet for the Retrofit 

Before installing the Calix E5-121 retrofit kit, you must prepare the MNLC RT-410 cabinet 

for an equipment retrofit. Preparatory tasks include removing one or more native USAM 

shelves (if required) and installing subscriber interface adapter cables. This chapter describes 

how to perform the preparatory tasks.
