8. NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Remove any dirt and corrosion residue from the battery poles.
6.3 SEPARATING THE BATTERY FROM THE CONNECTION
CABLE
To separate the connection cable from the battery, repeat the steps in
Point 6.2 in reverse.
Regularly check the tightness of the battery snap connectors on the
battery poles and the fi xed cable connection..
Strip 25 mm of the insulation from the end of the connection cable,
see Figure 1. If possible, use a wire end ferrule to protect the leads
of the connection cable and to make a secure connection. Loosen
the screws of the clamp on the battery snap connector. Insert the
stripped end of the cable into the clamp, and tighten the screws.
Make sure that the cable is not twisted.
The red battery snap connector must be attached to the
positive cable, and the blue battery snap connector to the
negative or earth cable. The poles of batteries with DIN
poles have diff erent diameters. This ensures that they
cannot be used incorrectly.
6.4 ATTACHING A JUMP LEAD
If jump-starting is required, lift up the plastic caps of the battery snap
connectors so that the jump lead can be clamped to the metal parts
of the battery snap connectors, see Figure 6.

connectors are correctly positioned on the battery
terminals, and close them again.
