Operation of the AV Tutor:

• Insert a Califone cartridge into the AV Tutor BEFORE turning the unit on. The cartridge
should slide into the AV Tutor and then “click” into place.
• When the power is turned off and then on again rapidly, the  screen may not load
properly and could show a strange pattern on the screen. To fix this,  turn off the 2050
power waiting for 3 to 5 seconds, and then turn it on again.
• If after turning the AV Tutor power on a strange pattern is displayed on the screen, the
cartridge may not be seated properly in the unit. Verify that the cartridge is fully pushed
down into the device and into the connector. The top of the cartridge should be level
with the top most edges of the AV Tutor. If upon turning the unit on again there is still
a strange pattern on the screen, try to wiggle the cartridge to improve it’s seating
  in the unit.
• LED indicator:

1. When powered off and charging the batteries using the included power

adapter, the LED will light red. When charging of the batteries is complete,

                           the LED will turn off.

2. When powered on and charging the batteries using the included power

adapter, the LED will light red. When charging of the batteries is complete,

    the LED will turn green.

• Warning: Only replace batteries with rechargeable NiMH batteries.”

Note about the Temporary Memory

The memory will hold approximately 8 seconds of audio for students to record their
responses and compare it to the modeled example. Anything recorded is automatically
erased when the screen is changed or the unit is powered off.
