Special cases of use
The following image shows an installation in which either due to
network layout reasons or for a number of devices exceeding 500 (Max
500 for each Data Easy +), it is necessary to create four different
networks of repeaters.
The following applies also when the number of networks is 2, 3 or
higher than 4.
Important!
It is recommended not to change the MESH network channel
(default =13 both on Data Easy
+
and on repeaters), because the change
may involve the transmission power of the devices.
Network configuration
1.
Power on Data Easy
+
, connect to web interface and start the
search of devices following the "User guide Data Easy
+
"
manual.
2.
Activate the OMS/Wireless M-Bus trasmission in the devices
trough the parametrization or reading following the "User
guide Data Easy
+
" manual.
3.
Power on the first repeater to be installed and move it away
to a minimum distance of 5 meters from Data Easy
+
.
4.
Fixed blue repeater LED shows the connection to the MESH
network.
5.
Once connected, it shows the MESH radio signal quality to
the gateway, by turning on the green front LED, 1 -
insufficient reception, 2 - sufficient, 3- good, 4 - excellent.
6.
Place repeater in a place where the reception signal is >=2
and the reception of all the Wireless M-Bus devices you
expect to receive with this repeater is satisfactory.
7.
Check through Data Easy
+
web that Wirelss M-Bus devices,
that you want to receive, reach the repeater.
8.
Fasten the repeater and proceed with powering a second
repeater keeping it at least 5 metres away from both the
repeater and Data Easy
+
.
9.
Once connected, it shows the MESH radio signal quality to
the gateway, by turning on the front LED, so proceed as for
the first repeater.
The default scanning phase is 13 hours. Is possible to modify
its duration through Data Easy
+
web server.
Is possible to have various independent repeaters networks in
the same building, in that case, you need to have different ID
or channel for each repeater group and the relative Data
Easy
+
. You can modify these parameters through Data Easy
Toolkit software installed on a PC and connect via mini USB
cable to repeater, see the "User guide Data Easy
+
" manual for
details.
Settings of MESH network ID
In order to avoid interferences between the various systems,
assign to each Data Easy
+
a different MESH network ID. The
setting is done on Data Easy
+ ”
through its web interface with the
following way:
“Settings / Wireless Devices / Device search / Setup Mesh
Network”.
The same MESH network ID setting must be carried out also on all
repeaters that are part of the network of the Data Easy
+
which they
have to communicate with.
For this procedure it is necessary to connect a PC to the repeater
to be configured (via mini USB cable), use the Data Easy Toolkit
(installation programs available on the Caleffi USB stick supplied)
and follow the instructions in the "User guide Data Easy
+
" manual.
Note
: lt is
recommended
not to change the MESH Netwo
r
k
Channel (defau
lt
=
1
3 bot
h
on
Data Easy
+
and on repeaters),
because
the
change
may involve
the transmission power of
th
e
devices.
Repeaters firmware upgrade
You should always check for an updated release of the firmware of
the repeaters. The one installed during the production phase might
be obsolete.
Far this procedure it is necessary to connect a PC to the repeater
to be configured (via cable USB). Use the Data Easy Toolkit
software (installation programs available on the Caleffi USB stick
supplied) and follow the instructions in the manual.
