5.2 Removal of the battery and battery lock
Before removing the battery, turn the battery OFF. Then disconnect the big
connector by pushing and pressing the yellow latch, before pulling the whole
connector outwards.
The battery is secured by a lock located in the lower, front part of the battery. You
access the lock by looking at the skid plate, that the battery stands on from the
front. You unlock it by using the key that you received when you unpacked the
ÖSA.
When the lock is unlocked, removed the Velcro, and then carefully lift the battery
pack and angle it towards you. Be careful as you might create ugly marks on the
frame if you are not cautious.
Warning: Without the battery locked, anyone can steal the battery without effort.
Always use the lock.
5.3 Charging
When charging the bike, follow these steps.
ALWAYS read the charging manual before charging. Please check the charger
specific manual at www.ridecake.com/manuals to if you have any questions
regarding your charger.
1. Make sure that the battery is connected to the bike.
2. Disconnect the kill switch
3. Start by plugging the charger into the charging connector found on the battery.
Remove the protective plug on the charging connector by pressing the silver latch
on top of the connector while pulling on the plug.
4. Plug the charger into the outlet.
5. When you have charged the bike, first disconnect the charger from the outlet
and then disconnect the charger from the bike. Don’t forget to put in the
protective plug in the connector to avoid any dirt inside. If this step is not
followed, dirt can be accumulated in the connector causing the connector to
break.
• Never charge the bike without supervision.
• Never use the charger in any other application than with the CAKE ÖSA.
• Never use any other charger than the original CAKE ÖSA charger.
• Always follow the battery instructions giving above.
