2.9. FRESH AIR INLET
It is compulsory to have recirculation of fresh air to keep the environment healthy. The flow of air
between outdoors and the room may be direct, through an opening in the outer wall of the room
(preferred, see
Picture 7 a ); or indirect by channeling air from adjoining rooms ( see Picture 7 b ).

Bedrooms, garages or fuel stores are all to
be excluded. The air inlet must have a total
net area of minimum 80 cm
2
, to be increased
if there are other active generators in the
room (e.g.: electric air removal fans, kitchen
extractor hoods, other stoves, etc.) which
create draught. Check when all the
appliances are on, that the loss between the
room and outdoors is no greater than 4.0Pa.
If necessary increase the air inlet, which must
be placed close to the floor with an external
bird-proof grid to avoid obstructions.
2.10. COMBUSTION AIR INLET

It is advisable to take the air needed for
combustion directly from outdoors (in some
countries and/or places it is compulsory),
with a tube 60mm minimum diameter, and 2
meters maximum length. See the back of the
stove for the attachment (
see Picture 2,
page 63 ). It ensures a better combustion and
no risks for health. During installation check
the minimum distance needed for the inlet
combustion air directly taking from outdoors
because (for example) open windows or
doors create a vortex that can remove the
combustion air that stove needs: see diagram
below. Place a bird-proof grid on the external
side.
