Repeater Redundancy
This chapter describes how to configure and enable redundant circuits.
Setting Network Circuit Redundancy
The redundancy application gives you the ability to define redundant circuits for
your SEHI to ensure that critical network connections remain operational. Each
circuit has a designated primary port and one or more backup ports. The SEHI
monitors the link status of the primary port’s connection to one or more network
IP addresses; if the link fails, the SEHI automatically switches traffic to a backup
port.
To open the main Repeater Redundancy window:
from the icon:

Click on the appropriate device icon to display the icon menu.

Drag down to Redundancy and release.
from the Hub View:

to display the Device menu.

Drag down to Redundancy and release.
from the command line (stand-alone mode):

From the appropriate directory, type:
NOTE
Before you configure redundancy, make sure that only the primary physical link is
connected to the network. If a backup port is connected before you configure and enable
redundancy, you create a data loop.
