Important: ensure that the reference sign (
) is over the Brachial Artery that is
placed on the inside of the arm.
e.
Tighten the free end of the cuff and close the cuff with the closer.
f.
There must be no free space between the arm and the cuff as this would influence the result.
Clothing must not restrict the arm. Any piece of clothing which does (e.g. a pullover) must
be taken off.
g. Lay the arm on the table (palm upwards) so that the cuff is at the same height as the heart.
Make sure that the tube is not kinked (Fig. 10).
h. Remain seated quietly for two minutes before starting the measurement.
i.
If the “INDEX” line falls within the
NORMAL (22-32 cm)
range, indicated at the edge of
the cuff, this cuff is suitable for the use. If the “INDEX” line falls out of the
NORMAL (22-
32 cm)
range, it could be necessary a special cuff.
Note:
if it is not possible to fit the cuff to the left arm, it can also be placed on the right one.
However all measurements should be made using the same arm.
5.4 MEASURING PROCEDURE
1. Press ON/OFF button once to switch on device (date and time are so displayed on LCD),
press it again to start with measurement
2. The display will switch on with all symbols of LCD for one second.
3. About 2-3 seconds later, device sound two times quickly, appears on LCD the indication 0
and pressure into the cuff begin to increase while pressure value is displayed.
4. This monitor will inflate automatically if the system detects that your body requires more pressure
for measurement. The cuff pressure will fall slowly during measuring. Do not shake the cuff or the
monitor. Keep quiet. When the cuff pressure rises to 190 mmHg, the inflation movements stop
and the indicated number drops down to start measuring.
5. Along with the measurement, besides the values of blood pressure which can detect if your
blood pressure has problem or not, the heartbeat rate is also recorded (along with the
measurements, the heart sign will appear on the display, blinking to any heartbeat) and detected
if you have an irregular heartbeat(arrhythmia) or not. The heartbeat reading values will appears
on the display at the end of measurement.
6. After finishing measurement device issue a sound beep, the cuff deflates rapidly and automatically
and the values of systolic and diastolic pressures and pulse rate will be displayed on the display
together an automatic interpretation symbol (as indicated at paragraph 4.4 of this instruction
manual) and the heart symbol (blinking or fix as below pictures).
When device detects an irregular heartbeat or any excessive body movement during
measurement, at the end of measuring will appear on the LCD the symbol
.
