Risk of shock
Loose wiring will lead to system working incorrectly and may even lead to a serious
accident like shock.
-Check the exterior distribution plate before wiring; only make sure it is neutral.
-Don’t break the insulation skin of the cable.
- All the cables must be checked carefully to prevent bad contact.
4.6.5 Install Transformer
Only after the Mini ES starts can you install the CT, otherwise, it will cause the APP to show the
incorrect information.

The CT clamp from the inverter to the consumer unit should be clamped around the live
feed from the inverter to the consumer unit. The arrow needs to be facing towards the
consumer unit.

The CT clamp from the consumer unit to the grid needs to be clamped around the live
meter tail. The arrow should face towards the consumer unit.
Following commissioning and after setting up
the monitor software, the clamps functionality
can be tested quite simply. Open the BYD app,
switch on a kettle powered by the property, and
you should see an upward spike in the ‘Load’ line
on the graph (see image right). If the spike is
reversed and spiking downwards, the CT clamp
between the battery and the grid is the wrong
way round.
