Layout and function
The instrument is used to produce dry ice tablets
weighing up to 250 g. The instrument must only be
connected to CO
2
gas canisters (W 21.80 x 1/14“ right,
DIN 477 No. 6) with a riser pipe. Use only CO
2
gas
canisters without a pressure reducer.
Point out any damage in the packaging to the freight
forwarder/supplier immediately.
Assembly
1. Set the CO
2
gas canister up vertically.
2. Screw the instrument tightly onto the CO
2
gas
canister with the hexagonal nut. The handle should
be pointing down.
3. Open the tightening strap
and remove the handle
(arrows).
4. Open the valve of the CO
2
gas canister briefly to
ensure the fill level of the canister and cleanliness
of the evaporator nozzle.
5. Place the handle on the instrument and close the
tightening strap.
Producing dry ice tablets
1. Slowly open the valve of the CO
2
gas canister.
2. Check the fill level of the instrument.
3. As soon as the tightening strap
is stretched and
the handle
is pressed down, the maximum fill
level is reached (after about 60 s). Close the valve of
the CO
2
gas canister.
4. Hold the handle firmly and release the tightening
strap.
5. Shake the handle piece a little to loosen the dry ice
tablet and then remove it.
Troubleshooting
Standard values
Average weight of the dry ice tablets: 223 g
The standard values were measured under optimum
conditions. The values may vary depending on room
temperature or filling duration. Cool CO
2
gas canisters
generally produce more dry ice tablets.
WARNING!
CO
2
escapes during operation. Danger of frostbite
and suffocation.
`
`
Wear cold-protection gloves.
`
`
Fill only in ventilated rooms or under a suitable
exhaust hood.
