20 RM2020 Installation
Mounting the Enclosure on a Telephone Pole
To install the RM2020 enclosure against a telephone pole using the pre-installed
metal bracket, complete the following steps:
1 Place the enclosure against the telephone pole where you will mount it.
2 Mark the hole locations for the top and bottom center holes.
3 Set the enclosure out of the way.
4 Use a hand drill and a metal, masonry, or wood drilling bit to drill two
holes into the mounting surface where you marked their locations in
step
2 , one for the top of the bracket and one for the bottom of the bracket.
5 Place the enclosure back in place where the holes line up and drive in lag
bolts or other appropriate fasteners to hold the enclosure in place.
6 Continue with Installing the Antenna/Surge Arrestor on page 21.
Alternate Mounting Method on a Flat Surface
An accessory kit (part number 370096-000, Mounting Rail Kit) is available for
order to mount the enclosure against a flat surface. The kit includes 2 plastic
mounting brackets (also called flanges) and mounting hardware (4 flat-head
screws). See Figure 2-4.
To install the RM2020 enclosure on a flat surface using the plastic brackets from
the optional accessory kit, complete the following procedure:
1 Use a 7/16 wrench to loosen the four (4) bolts securing the metal mounting
bracket on the back of the enclosure, and then remove the bracket.
2 Place one of the two plastic mounting brackets (also called flanges) onto
the back of the unit and drive two screws with a slotted screwdriver into
the same holes that held the metal brackets in place.
