Loading a Compact Disc Vertically
Note: The CD-ROM drive must be in the horizontal position if you are using an 8cm
disc.
To load a compact disc into a vertically mounted drive, do the following:
1. Press the Load/Unload Button to open the tray. The tray slides out of the drive.
Make sure the lower vertical retaining tabs are extended. See “Extending the
Vertical Retaining Tabs” on page 11.
2. Insert the compact disc behind the tabs, label side out.
3. To close the tray, press the Load/Unload button, or gently push in the tray.
Opening the Tray Manually
The tray should automatically open when you press the Load/Unload button. If it does
not automatically open, follow these steps to manually open it:
1. Follow your operating system instructions for shutting down your system, then turn
off the power to your system unit. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
