Introduction
iSCSI
Can be placed anywhere
It is recognized as a local hard disk just like USB
hard drives, but you don't have to place it near
your computer, since it’s connected via the
network.
Can be used as a local drive
Since it is recognized as a local drive, all features of your
OS and applications can be used. You can format the
drive with NTFS from within Windows.
This illustration shows a TS-IXL TeraStation. The rackmount TS-RIXL is functionally identical.
iSCSI Compatible Hard Drive
iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface) is a standard to transmit data on an Ethernet network by encapsulating
SCSI commands in TCP/IP protocol. Connecting Ethernet cabling as iSCSI, it is recognized as a local drive by computers
or servers.
