• Auto-MDIX is disabled if the rate and duplex mode are fixed.
• When using gigabit communications, autonegotiation must be used.
• SFP ports and shared ports can only be set to autonegotiation.
• When using trunk configuration, the mode is fixed to autonegotiation.
• When connecting to a device with a different rate that supports flow control, enable flow control
on the switch.
• QoS does not function while flow control is enabled.
Admin Account
These settings are used to configure the username and password used for logging in to the switch.

Parameter
Meaning
Username
The name of the Administrator account is “admin”.
Password
This is the password for logging in to the switch. It may contain up
to 8 alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), and underscores(_).
Confirm Password
Enter the password again.
• The password field is displayed as being blank even when a password has been set. If you click
Apply
in this condition, the password will no longer be set.
• When you click
Apply
, the username and password input screen will be displayed. Input the new
password.
• You may be unable to access Settings if you forget the password.
• If the reset button is enabled, you can restore the factory default settings by pressing the reset
button. The reset button is enabled by default.
• If the reset button is disabled, you must send the device to Buffalo Technical Support to restore
the factory defaults. In this event, please contact Buffalo Technical Support.
