2 Introduction and installation
This installation guide will show the basics of connection and setup of the HRB base
bench scales shown in
Figure 2.1 .

The HRB base uses a family of digital load cells. The bases are constructed of die cast
aluminum, with stainless steel load-receiving platters. The 35kg and 80kg bases have
a rectangular stainless steel platter of the same dimensions as the base. The 1 and 5kg
models have a round weight platter six inches in diameter. The optional draft shield for
the low capacity bases (1kg and 5kg) is shown in
Figure 2.1 .
