5.2 Preventative
Maintenance
The pump operating condition should be monitored on an ongoing basis. It is recommended
that amperage draw, discharge pressure and flow rate readings be recorded frequently to
identify any changes in the pump performance that could indicate possible problems with the
pump or motor.
If the pump amperage, discharge pressure and flow rate have a significant change then it is
recommended to remove the pump from service and complete a mechanical and electrical
inspection.
The motors seal leak detection moisture sensor system protects the motor from damage to the
motor components. If the Inboard Mechanical Seal fails, the moisture sensor system detects
the failure and shuts down the pump.
The motor thermostats protect the motor from damage to the motor components due to
overheating. If the thermostats detect a high temperature the pump will shut down.
