
Adding grease (when the grease
up warning screen is displayed)
If the time for adding grease has been reached when
the power switch is turned on, the warning buzzer
sounds five times (1 second on/1 second off), and the
panel display changes to the grease up warning
screen. The sewing machine will not operate at this
time, even if the treadle is depressed.
To continue sewing temporarily without
applying grease

The panel display will change to the home screen
and sewing will be possible when the treadle is
depressed.
CAUTION
• The grease up warning screen will be displayed
each time the power is turned on until you apply
grease and reset the notification.
• If you continue to use the sewing machine after the
grease up warning screen is displayed without
applying grease (or without carrying out the reset
procedure), “
E 100
” will appear after a certain period
of time and the sewing machine will be forcibly
prevented from operating for safety reasons.
If this happens, apply grease and carry out the reset
procedure.
•
If you continue to use the sewing machine after
carrying out the reset procedure but without
applying grease, problems with the sewing
machine may result.
Applying grease
Use Brother-specified “Grease unit (SB6659-101)”.

Using the tube

Make a hole in the tube and attach the nozzle
according to the instructions shown in the
illustration.

Follow the procedure below to apply grease to
the places indicated by arrows.

1. Turn the power switch to “OFF”.
2. Remove the screw.
3. Apply grease to each of the holes until the
grease overflows slightly.
4. Turn the machine pulley to raise the needle
bar to a position where the slide block guide
(1) can be seen, and then apply grease at the
position shown in the illustration.

5. Tighten the screw to push in the grease.
6. Turn the machine pulley by hand to move the
needle bar up and down several times in
order to disperse the grease.
