1. Specify the character set.

- Select font (ESC k)
- Select character code (ESC t)
- Select international character set (ESC R)
- Specify character size (ESC X)
- Specify the character spacing (ESC P, ESC M, ESC SP)

2. Specify the character style.

- Specify character style
(ESC 4, ESC 5, ESC E, ESC F, ESC G, ESC H, ESC W, SO,
ESC SO, SI, ESC SI, DC2, DC4, ESC -, ESC !)

3. Specify character codes.

Repeat 1–3 above as necessary.
