Cleaning
Clean the outside and inside of the printer with a dry soft cloth. When you replace the drum unit, make
sure you clean the inside of the printer. If printed pages are stained with toner, clean the inside of the
printer with a dry soft cloth.
Cleaning the outside of the printer
Clean the outside of the printer as follows:

Turn off the printer power switch, and then unplug the printer power cord.

Take the paper tray out of the printer.

Open the multi-purpose tray.

Wipe the outside of the printer with a soft cloth to remove dust.

Remove anything that is stuck inside the paper tray.

Put the paper tray back in the printer, and then close the multi-purpose tray.

Plug the printer power cord back in, and then turn the printer power switch back on.

Use neutral detergents. Cleaning with volatile liquids such as thinner or benzine will damage the
surface of the printer.

Do not use cleaning materials that contain ammonia. They could damage the printer, particularly
the toner cartridges.
