as trees in dangerous positions,
roads, railways, electric cables.
A8 – The operator is accountable for
any accidents or dangers occurred
to other people or their belongings.
A9 – Only use the CHAIN SAW to
cut wood.
Do not use the chain saw for other
purposes.
A10 – Wear safety clothing and
equipment suitable for CHAIN SAW
operation.
When using the chain saw, wear
snug fitting clothes; avoid loose items
of clothing.
Use a heavy duty overall and suit-
able cut proof safety equipment on
feet, legs, hands and forearms.
Do not wear any objects which may
get caught inside the moving parts
of the chain saw.
A11 - Wear approved safety goggles
or visors.
A11.1 - Wear approved safety ear
muffs.
WARNING !! The chain saw can
cause damages to ears and eyes.
A11.2 - Wear approved safety hel-
met. A helmet fitted with a strap un-
der the throat is recommended.
A12 – Wear approved safety shoes
with non slip soles, suitable for climb-
ing trees.
A13 - Wear approved safety gloves
(cut proof).
A14 – Anyone using the CHAIN
SAW must be in good psychologi-
cal and physical conditions. DO NOT
USE the petrol chain saw if you feel
tired, unwell or are taking medica-
tions which cause drowsiness, alco-
hol and drugs.
A15 - WARNING! Exhaust gases are
poisonous and asphyxiating. If in-
haled, they may even be fatal. Do
not start the engine in a room with
poor or no ventilation.
A16 – The prolonged use of the
chain saw may cause blood circula-
tion problems to the hands (white fin-
ger disease) caused by vibrations.
The following factors may affect the
occurrence of such conditions:
- The operator’s proneness to poor
blood circulation to the hands.
- Using the chain saw at low tempera-
tures (the use of warm gloves is rec-
ommended).
- Long, continuous use of the petrol
chain saw (taking breaks when us-
ing the chain saw is recommended).
- If you are affected by pins and nee-
dles and by numbness, seek medi-
cal advice.
A17 - WARNING! Petrol and its va-
pours are extremely flammable.
DANGER OF FIRE AND OF SERIOUS
OR EVEN FATAL BURNS.
A17.1 – Stop the engine before re-
fuelling.
A17.2 – Do not smoke when refuel-
ling.
A17.3 – Dry any fuel spillage. Start
the engine away from the refuelling
area.
A17.4 – Make sure the fuel tank cap
is tightly closed.
Pay attention to fuel leaks. When
operating the chain saw, periodically
check that the cap has not come
loose.
