Brewing Coffee Instructions

Setting up the machine for brewing a 12-cup carafe

IMPORTANT:

Before brewing, always assure there is water inside the water tank and add water if needed.

Never exceed the MAX fill line. Also, filter must be clean.

NOTE:

The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the amount of water placed into the water

reservoir; as much as 10% is absorbed by coffee grounds and filter.

BEFORE STARTING THE BREWING PROCESS:

Assure that the tray with drip tray cover are locked in the

vertical position, in order to allow spacing for the carafe to sit properly on the heating plate. In failure to do
so, when pressing on “my carafe” button, the coffee maker will not start the brewing process and will beep
3 times as a warning of the wrong configuration.
1.  Lift to open the Coffee Maker lid. Fill carafe with cold tap water and pour into water reservoir at the

back of the unit. The water level indicator can be easily viewed from the right side of the unit.

2.  Place empty carafe on the warming plate.
3.  Place the permanent filter in the removable filter holder. Measure 1 level tablespoons or 1 scoop with the

provided scooper cup, of drip or regular grind coffee for each cup of coffee desired. For stronger or
milder coffee, adjust amount of coffee to suit your taste.

4.  Close the lid.
5.  Plug the power cord into 120V/60HZ power supply socket, the background indicator will be

illuminated; “AM 12:00” will flash. Set the clock time using the HOUR & MIN buttons, press SELECT, it
will beep to confirm the time.  The back-lit indicator will go into sleep mode within 15 seconds and will
release a beep if no further buttons are selected.

6.  Press the “my carafe” button. The indicator light in “my carafe” button will turn on and the coffee

maker will begin the brew cycle.

NOTE:

To interrupt the brew process at any time, press the “my carafe” button once, the coffee maker

will beep, then the unit will turn to keep warm function and the LCD will display the keep warm icon
and 0:00 counting up, which represents the time since brew cycle finishes. To shut down the unit,
press the “my carafe” button once again, the unit will beep and the indicator light in “my carafe”
button goes out.

7.  Upon completion of the brew cycle the machine will beep. Coffee will continue to flow for approximately

one minute, or until the filter is emptied.  The carafe can be removed to pour the brewed coffee at any
time during this period, simply ensure that the carafe is replaced within 30 seconds in order to accept
the remainder of the brewed coffee.  The carafe lid should be kept in place to facilitate the safe serving
when coffee is ready to serve and help keep coffee at a proper serving temperature. Tilt the carafe
slightly and pour the hot coffee very slowly so that the flow of the brewed coffee does not exceed the
width of the spout.

8.  The heating plate will stay ON after brewing the coffee maker for 2 hours, this is the keep warm

function. After 2 hours of keep warm, the coffee maker will beep, the indicator light and the keep
warm icon will turn off and the heating plate will shut down automatically. If within 2 hours there is no
coffee left in the carafe, press the “my carafe” button, the coffee maker will beep, and the indicator light
and keep warm icon will turn off. The heating plate will shut down and the current clock will appear on
the LCD instead of the time since brew.

Setting up the machine for brewing a cup of coffee

IMPORTANT:

Before brewing a cup of coffee, please make sure there is no residual water inside the water

tank from the last brew, this will affect the final volume of the output coffee. Also, filter must be clean.
1.  Remove carafe and press on the tray release button, located on the right hand side of the machine to

release the tray.

2.  Make sure the tray is in horizontal position, with the drip tray cover

inside the tray.

3.  Lift to open the Coffee Maker lid. Fill the cup or mug you want to

brew into with cold tap water and pour into water reservoir at the
back of the unit. The translucent water level indicator can be easily
viewed at the right side of unit.

4.  Place the cup onto the tray assembly.
5.  Place the permanent filter in the removable filter holder. Fill up

with ground coffee to the markings inside the permanent filter for
a perfect cup or tumbler of coffee. You may adjust the flavor by
adding more or less ground coffee.

6.  Close the lid.
