To unlock the doors manually
User shall always carry the Latch Unlock Tools to manually open the doors in case of depleted
battery pack or if the BrightDrop App does not unlock the doors. The user must unlock both the
top and the bottom latches to open the doors. Reference the service manual, print out included
during delivery or call the BrightDrop contact center at 888-987-4377 or email
[email protected].
ONLY after both the top and the bottom latches have been unlocked, you may open the doors.
DO NOT force the doors open or closed or the doors may be damaged.

To lock the doors
a.
ALWAYS close the left side door first, then close the right side door.
b.
Make sure both doors are closed properly to engage both the top and bottom latches on
the right side door.
c.
By default, the Trace doors will automatically return to LOCK status 10 seconds after the
doors are fully closed; OR
To manually lock the Trace doors, press the ‘Lock’ button in the BrightDrop App or on the
handlebar user interface. Note: Lock timeout can be adjusted in the BrightDrop fleet
portal. If configured with auto lock, doors that do not have both top and bottom latches
properly engaged, will NOT auto lock. Refer to your fleet manager for settings assigned to
individual Trace units.
Caster Brakes
To prevent motion of the trace, caster wheels are equipped with manual brakes.
NOTE: The caster brake pedals are only accessible when exposed from under the
Trace chassis. If you cannot see the caster brake pedals, pull the Trace towards you 6-
12 inches using the handle. This should allow the casters to swivel and allow the user
to see and to press the caster brake.
The caster wheels are the two wheels located closest to the Handlebar User Interface
To lock: Press down on the “ON” part of the pedal attached to each wheel (Figure 6).
To unlock: Press down on the “OFF” part of the pedal attached to each wheel (Figure 7).
