HOW TO PREPARE THE LAWN MOWER FOR
STORAGE
WARNING
Fuel and its vapors are extremely
flammable and explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe
burns or death
• When storing fuel or equipment with fuel in the tank, keep
it away from furnaces, stoves, water heaters, or other
appliances that have pilot lights or other ignition sources
because they can ignite fuel vapors
For extended storage, prepare the lawn mower as follows.
1. Drain the fuel from the tank into an approved container.
Run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel.
2. While the engine is still warm, change the engine oil.
3. Thoroughly clean the lawn mower of all dirt, debris, and
grass clippings underneath the mower housing.
4. Make sure all fasteners are secure.
5. Fold the handle down, if desired.
6. Store the lawn mower in a clean, dry location, free of
grass, leaves, or excessive grease. Do not cover the
lawn mower while the engine is warm.
