1.4 Specification Change and Modification
Machine specifications are set to the optimum conditions before shipment.
Never try to change the machine specifications without consulting your machine
tool supplier. If only some of the specifications are changed, the other
specifications will not match the change and unexpected results will be obtained.
In the worst case, specification changes will result in adverse effects.
If, in order to meet special requirements, it becomes necessary to change or
modify the specifications, always consult your machine tool supplier.
Never change the parameter settings without consulting your machine tool
supplier. If changed inadvertently, some parameters will cancel the interlock
settings.
Operate the machine according to its specifications.
Machine installation and repair should be performed only by an authorized
technician.
1.5 Precautions on Automatic Operation
Machining Centres are usually operated according to programs stored in the NC
memory. During automatic operation, the machinery starts suddenly or a
machine unit may move unexpectedly, Therefore, never touch the machine’s
moveable parts or stand close the machine during automatic operation.
Before pressing the cycle start switch (START) to begin automatic operation,
check the following points:
The workpiece is secured
The tools are set in the magazine
The machine doors are closed
Set the override switches (spindle speed, rapid traverse rate, and cutting
feedrate) to the proper value.
When running a new program for the first time, check the program number.
Never attempt to start a new program in the automatic mode: carefully run the
program one block at a time using the single block function.
During automatic mode operation, be careful not to touch any switches
inadvertently.
After the completion of a cycle, always check that the cycle start indicator is not
lit and that the program has ended before removing a machined workpiece and
setting a new workpiece.
