Chapter 4: Installing Top/Bottom Bunks.
Repeat 2-5 in this chapter to
make the Bottom Bunk and
review the safety checklist.
Substrate A & B pieces
should face down and
tighten from the bottom.
The holes are also offset
closer to the back edge/
back rail.

STEP 9
Repeat 6-8 in this chapter to attach the Bottom Bunk onto the
bottom mechanism arms.
With both bunks installed you can place the mattresses in
the bunk frames which help balance the spring tension. Exact
balance will be covered in the next chapter.
Install
“Stop Blocks” on the
inside of the Bed Cabinet (shown
in red in Fig. 4N) with screws from
Hardware Package #27, located
46 ⅜” from floor. These blocks
stop the rotation of the Bottom
Bunk.
Do not tighten the
screws fully as these
will be adjusted later.

Tip up the Bottom Bunk
onto the back edge
and install the
“False
Ladders” onto the front (shown
in red in Fig. 4O) with screws from
Hardware Package #27, located
3 ½” from each edge.
