Cleaning
The cleaning frequency depends on the contamination, but at least once a
week.
• Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.
• Allow the device to cool before cleaning.
• Clean the appliance and the cover with a non-abrasive cleaning agent and
dry it with a soft dry towel.
• Clean the water tap with warm soapy water and rinse it.
Maintenance
During operation, lime deposits will form in the appliance. To ensure proper
operation, the appliance should be descaled regularly. For descaling we
recommend using our tried and tested descaling agent “RENEGITE”. The
frequency of descaling depends on the hardness of the water and the intensity
of use.
REMARK
Limescale deposits can make the appliance more noisy during
heating.
The descaling procedure is as follows
Switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug.
Drain as much hot water as possible through the tap and let the appliance
cool down. Empty the kettle by tilting the appliance. Dissolve 100 gr. of
descaler in approx. 1 litre of lukewarm water and carefully pour the solution
into the kettle.
Now plug the mains cable back in, switch the appliance on and wait approx.
10 minutes. Fill the appliance manually with cold water up to about 3 cm from
the edge. Wait until the set temperature is reached. Then switch the appliance
off again and pull the plug out of the socket. Drain a large cup of descaling
solution over the hot water tap four times with a one-minute interruption
(this also descales the tap well), now drain as much solution as possible over
the tap and cool down the kettle by filling it again with cold water. Drain as
much solution as possible via the tap again and empty the kettle by tilting the
appliance.
To ensure that no descaling agent remains in the kettle, rinse the inside of the
kettle thoroughly after descaling. Fill the kettle with (warm) water by hand and
empty it again.
The level sensors in particular must be cleaned thoroughly. (Do not use
abrasive cleaners!).
Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
The unit is now ready for normal use.
Error codes
If there is a problem with the appliance,
(error) appears on the display
followed by a number.
When this happens, check that the water supply is open, that there is no kink
in the connecting hose (in automatic mode) or clean the level sensors in the
kettle
If the error persists, switch off the appliance and contact your dealer.
