11. Extending Ladder (FEU)

Branach Latch Sequence

Extend Ladder

Pull the front rope, ensure 
rope tab is clear, latch will 

ratchet to each rung.

Lower Ladder

Position rope behind the 
rope tab to disengage 
the latch. Pull front 
rope downwards while 
positioning rope away 
from the ladder to 
disengage the latch.

Re-engage Latch

When ladder is closed, 
ensure latch is engaged 

before moving the ladder.

Secure Latch

When at desired height, 

ensure latch engages 

securely under the 

selected rung.

Release Slowly

Once latch is 
disengaged keep 
tension on the 
rope and lower 
slowly with rope 
tab guiding the 
latch away from 
the rungs.
