Deleting Ports in Windows 3.x.

Double-click on Serial Ports :
The Delete button can be used to discard the entries of ports that have been
removed from the system.
Note. Never try to leave out a serial port number when using the delete
button, because Windows may automatically shift serial port numbers
which results in a mis-match of settings in the Serial Ports Applet (COM1-
COM4 only).
Restarting Windows.
Whenever certain values have been entered or changed in the hardware settings
