Operating Instructions
Machine Start-up
To start the machine, the operator must:
1. Stand on the operator’s platform (Item 1,
Figure 3–11
).

2. Move the throttle lever (Item 1,

) to about half way between fast and idle
engine speeds.
3. Rotate the ignition key counterclockwise to the PREHEAT position (Item 3,
Figure 3–12
)
to allow the glo-plugs to warm the engine cylinders for approximately 10 seconds.
The Low Engine Oil light and the warning sounder will turn on during this process. This
is a normal condition and will verify that this warning system is functioning properly. If
either the light or the warning sounder do not turn on, see Section 4 – Routine Service and
Maintenance.
