Belt Tension Adjustment
Ensure that conveyor is empty off all product
before adjusting belt tension.
1. Loosen the bearing bolts and the outer jam nut.
Refer to
Figure 10.38
.
2. Using the inner jam nut, tighten each side of
the tail roller equally; use a tape measure to
verify.
a.
The belt should be difficult to pull off the
side of the hopper transition.
3.
Check the tension by measuring belt deflection
at the midpoint of the transition. Refer to
Figure 10.37
.
a. Place a small c-clamp on the edge of the
belt halfway up the transition.
b. Using a scale, pull the belt 3” horizontally
off the side of the transition.
i.
The 10” conveyor should read
between 90-100 lbs.
WARNING
Stop conveyor & lock out
power before adjusting belt
tension.
