Connecting on alarm
With the appropriate configuration, a connection between a sender and a receiver is made
automatically when an alarm is triggered (see
Section 5.24 Advanced Mode: Alarm Connections,
page 53
). After a short time the live video image from the sender appears on the connected
monitor.
This option can also be used to connect a sender and a compatible receiver using a switch
connected to the alarm input. You do not need a computer to make the connection in this
case.
Connecting with a terminal program
Various requirements must be met in order to operate with a terminal program (see
Section 8.9 Communication with terminal program, page 101
).
1.
Start the terminal program and enter the command

in the main menu to switch to the
Rcp+
menu.

Enter the command
c
in the
Rcp+
menu to change the remote IP address, then enter the
IP address of the unit you wish to connect to.

In the
Rcp+
menu, enter command
1
to activate automatic connection.
Closing the connection with a terminal program
1.
Start the terminal program and enter the command

in the main menu to switch to the
Rcp+
menu.
2.
In the
Rcp+
menu, enter command
3
to deactivate automatic connection.

Connecting with a Web browser is described in the manual of the relevant unit that is to be
used as the receiver, for example VIP XD.
