Fig. 12   Minimum distances

▶ The height of the flue pipe should be to ensure that the

pumping force is not less than 3Pa as the determination
principle, generally should not be higher than 10m;

▶ The length of smoke exhaust pipe horizontal part L ≤ 4m,

and the horizontal front end can’t be inclined downward and
has a certain elevation angle. The outdoor bottom part of the
flue pipe is provided with a water discharging structure;

▶ The elbow of smoke exhaust pipe should be 90°, the number

of elbows should not be more than 4;

▶ The height of H ≥ 350mm;
▶ Flue pipe top should have a false ogive device to avoid the

wind, rain, snow, its position should not in the wind band,
and should have a safety distance from its smoke mouth to
the surrounding buildings.

Combustion gases

• All of the heaters should obligatorily be connected in an

airtight way to a flue gas duct of proper dimension.

• Avoid change of direction.
• The flue duct should:

– be vertical (horizontal sections should be reduced to a

minimum or completely eliminated)

– be thermally insulated
– have an outlet above the maximum point of the roof, in

the event of this not being possible, ensure that between
the highest point of the house chimney and the roof there
is a minimum distance of 40 cm.

• The combustion gas duct should be duly connected to the

flue collar of the appliance. Diameter features of the flue
collar are indicated in the table with the appliance's
dimensions (

table 5).

• A protective terminal should be installed against wind/rain

on the edge of the flue duct.

If these conditions cannot be guaranteed, a different site must
be chosen for the gas flue and intake.

Superficial temperature

The maximum superficial temperature of the appliance, with
the exception of the combustion gas flue device, is lower than
80 °C. Special protective measures are not necessary for
combustible construction materials, nor for furnishing.

Air Intake

The site earmarked for the installation of the appliance must
have an area of air supply as per the table.

The minimum requirements are listed above, but the specific
requirements of each country have to be respected.

DANGER:

 Danger to life caused by

combustion gas leak!
Leaks in the combustion gas duct may cause
combustion gases leaks through the appliance
installation compartment and may result in
personal injury or death.

▶ Check and guarantee that the combustion

gas duct is airtight after installation.

CAUTION:

Danger to life caused by

combustion gas leak!
In the case of rigid ducts, ensure that the edge
of the flue duct is placed between the edge of
the chimney and the ring.
