Performing The Reprogram
Once we have properly prepared the vehicle we
can begin the reprogramming process. For our
purposes we will be using the gM MDI. The Tech 2
will work for reflashing as well as most J2534
tools, but gM recommends using the MDI.
RePROgRAMMINg
you can see in the screen capture from the gM
website we have the ability to select the diagnostic
tool that we will be using to reflash the vehicle.
you can also see that we have highlighted the
J2534 MDI from the list, and that we are going to
reprogram the eCU.
About 80% of all programming done to the eCU is
to get the latest calibrations. The other 20% of
reprogramming is done when you replace an eCU.
