The front wheels may be, depending on the model, either small or large. Large
front wheels are fixed, not turning, and nor do they have a brake but allow
movement of the chair on uneven surface (balconies, terraces, transfer between
buildings, etc.)
Small front wheels turn around the axle and have no brake; it is possible to set
forward direction by stepping on arrest. Small wheels are very suitable when
negotiating tight lanes or corners (e.g. accessing the bed, x-ray, etc.).
