Basically, the temperature changes depending on the
ambient temperature (place of installation), the fre-
quency of opening the door and the equipment.
For initial operation, first set the lowest possible inter-
nal temperature (= highest power level) until the ap-
pliance has reached the desired operating tempera-
ture. It is recommended to reset to a medium power
level afterwards, then you can easily make any tem-
perature correction.
Recommendation, for optimized food storage and to
avoid food waste, a medium power level is generally
best. A high power level also increases energy con-
sumption.
To be able to check the cooling performance, you
ideally need a freezing thermometer. Place it in the
appliance.
The ideal temperature is -18°C. A less cold tempera-
ture setting may shorten food durability.
Equipment
Note that the equipment varies depending on the ap-
pliance type.
Storage shelves
Depending on the equipment, the various storage
shelves (partly and model-dependent) can be ad-
justed in height or removed for individual storage.
Also practical for cleaning purposes.
For removal, open the appliance door completely,
lift the shelf, if necessary, set it at an angle and
pull it out to the front.
If necessary or after cleaning, replace tray se-
curely.
Ice cube tray
Depending on the model, an ice cube tray for making
ice cubes is included with the appliance.
Fill the ice cube tray about ¾ full of water. Then
place the tray flat in the freezer for a few hours.
To release the ice cubes from the tray more eas-
ily, you can briefly hold the tray under warm wa-
ter.
Storing food
NOTE: Recommendation!
To guarantee that the temperature is low enough,
you should pre-cool the appliance a few times before
initial loading foods.
CAUTION:
Always pay attention to the storage instructions on
the sales packaging.
The 4-star freezer allows you to store frozen food at
a temperature of -18°C or colder for several months;
to prepare ice cubes and to freeze fresh food.
To avoid contamination of food, respect the following
instructions:
Opening the door for long periods can cause a
significant increase of the temperature in the com-
partments of the appliance.
Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact
with food and accessible drainage systems (see
“Cleaning and Maintenance”
).
Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in
the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or
drip onto other food.
