Slave or remote flash:
Flash units that are not directly connected to the camera and are controlled via the
master flash or a controller are called slave or remote units. Many slave flash units can be used at once.
Groups:
With the VC-310N’s wireless system, you can assign slave flash units to any one of three groups (A, B,
or C) and set the operating mode and power for each group separately.
Channels:
Master and slave flash units exchange data through channels. On the VC-310N, four channels (1,
2, 3, and 4) are available in the optical system. You can use this feature to prevent your slave units from being
triggered by the master unit of another photographer working with the same type of system.
Flash control modes:
There are three options of flash control.
Normal mode [
] —Normal flash operation in modes TTL, M, RPT, S1, S2.
Master mode [ ] —The VC-310N is the master flash.
Remote mode [ ] —The VC-310N acts as a slave flash.
