12. AquaDrain - hygiene management
12.1 Description
AquaDrain is a system designed to flush the pure water inlet pipe to the humidifier according to vari-
ous parameters and to cyclically empty the fluid tank of the NKBD. To do so, AquaDrain uses a
certain software and a solenoid valve combination integrated in the housing of the humidifier. In
addition, AquaDrain prevents that the fluid tank is refilled with water, which had been reduced by
evaporation, during the humidification-free periods of the AquaDrain cycle.
The AquaDrain cycle is the cycle in which the humidifier, minus the time for flushing the water in-
let pipe and draining of the fluid tank, can humidify continuously, but does not necessarily have to
do so. The AquaDrain cycle is 12 hours and the cycle was preset in the factory. Optionally this
setting may be changed by the manufacturer to 48 h, 24 h, 6 h, 3 h, 1.5 h and 0.75 h
