3.3 CONVERSION FROM SINGLE TO 3 PHASE
3.3.1 Please make sure you have read the Safety instructions and you are a suitably qualified 3phase electrician before
continuing.
a)
Open electrical box on back of heater
b)
See drawing below - Undo the screw in the terminal block clamping the 3 live cables coming from the lamps.
c)
Move one of the cables to terminal marked L3
d)
Move the second cable to terminal marked L2
e)
Make sure the remaining cable is still in L1 and tighten up all the screws.
f)
YOU SHOULD NOT NEED TO TOUCH ANY OF THE NEUTRAL CABLES COMING FROM THE LAMPS
g)
Now remove the mains cable and replace with suitable rated 5core 3 phase cable. This must be high temperature silicon
cable
h)
Heater needs to be connected L1, L2 L3, Neutral and Earth
4. OPERATION
Note:
The infrared lamps in this heater are fragile as such it is important that they are not subjected to any unnecessary shocks or vibration
and is not moved when in use. Wait till the heater has cooled down before moving.
❑
WARNING! Ensure you read, understand and apply the safety instructions in Section 1 before using the heater.
4.1
Ensure the heater is at least 1000mm from any object. The heater can be tilted from 45° to 90° set it to the required angle b efore
switching the heater on. Adjust the heater angle by loosening the two bolts on the wall mounting bracket. Tighten the bolts a gain when
the desired angle is reached.
4.2
Ensure that the mains supply is adequately protected and that the mounting bracket is earthed, then switch on.
4.3
Make sure the heater is disconnected from the mains supply before any cleaning is attempted. Also allow the heater to cool
completely.
4.4
When the heater is no longer required, switch off and if possible, unplug / disconnect the unit.
4.5
Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth.
4.6
To replace any of the lamps, contact your authorised dealer.
4.7
The mains lead is made from high temperature cable, not a standard PVC cable and as such should not be replaced without
consulting a suitable qualified electrician.
5. MAINTENANCE
Note:
Before examining or carrying out any maintenance ensure the heater has cooled down and is disconnected from the mains supply.
5.1
The heater contains no moving parts and therefore very little maintenance is required other than to ensure that there is no excessive
build-up of dust/dirt on the reflectors or emitters as this can cause overheating and premature emitter failure. To clean the appliance,
turn off and disconnect from mains supply, allow to cool then wipe with a damp cloth.
6. LAMP REPLACEMENT
Note:
Before examining or carrying out any maintenance ensure the heater has cooled down and is disconnected from the mains supply.
The lamps used in the fitting are robust and if knocks and shock vibrations are avoided, will last for around 5000 hours.
Please ensure you have the correct replacement lamp (see list below) before starting to dismantle the fitting.
6.1 TO REPLACE LEFT OR RIGHT LAMPS
a) Make sure the heater is isolated and disconnect from the power supply, wait until the body of the heater has cooled down.
b) Remove the end cap nearest the lamp you need to replace by undoing the 2 socket head screws at the end.
c) Slide out the end cover plate and remove the guard and end reflector.
d) Remove the other end reflector.
e) Unclip the faulty lamp from the spring clips at each end, allowing the lamp to move forward clear of the back reflector.
f) Unclip the reflector from the heater casing and remove.
g) Now
slid out the next cover plate making sure you don’t drop the guard from the centre lamp. Gently remove the centre guard.
h) Remove both end reflectors from the centre lamp.
i)
Remove the centre lamp back reflector by getting your fingers behind the reflector and unclipping it from its locating slot.
j)
Disconnect the faulty lamp wires from the terminals located in the electrical box on the rear of the heater, and then remove the lamp.
