NOTICE
To protect the environment,
BMW Motorrad recommends
occasionally checking the
engine oil after a journey of at
least 50 km.
Check the oil level in oil-level
indicator

Engine oil, specified level
Between MIN and MAX
marks
If the oil level is below the MIN
mark:
Topping up the engine oil
(

If the oil level is above the MAX
mark:
Have the oil level corrected
by a specialist workshop,
preferably an authorised
BMW Motorrad dealer.
Topping up the engine oil
Place the motorcycle on its
stand on firm, even ground.
Wipe the area around the oil
filler neck clean.
Insert the Phillips tip of the re-
movable screwdriver insert

into the screwdriver handle 2
(toolkit) to transfer the force
more easily.
Position the toolkit on the oil
filler plug
3 and turn anticlock-
wise.
Remove the oil filler plug
