Before connecting the bat-
tery, switch off the ignition.
To avoid short-circuits:
• Begin by connecting the
battery positive cable (+) 3
and connection 4 for the
control unit of the reverser
• Place the protective cap for
positive battery terminal 2
on the battery and close the
cap
– Never install the battery
without the protective cap
• Connect negative lead (—) 1
• Installation is the reverse of
the removal procedure
• Close the front seat

Disconnecting the battery de-
letes all entries (e.g. faults, set-
tings) stored in the memory of
the electronic engine manage-
ment system's control unit.
Loss of settings can temporarily
impair the operating character-
istics when the engine is re-
started.
• Switch on the ignition
• Fully open the throttle once or
twice
– The electronic engine man-
agement system registers the
throttle-valve positions
