Traffic information during route
guidance
System behaviour varies depending on whether
"Dynamic guidance" is selected, see page
120 .
During route guidance, obstructions to traffic
along the route are taken into account.
Particular hazards, e.g. oncoming drivers on the
wrong road side, are displayed irrespective of
the setting.
Displaying traffic obstructions
If the navigation system receives information on
a traffic obstruction and "Dynamic guidance" is
not selected, then within approx. 50 km, approx.
30 mph of the obstruction you are provided with
specific information such as the length of the
congestion.
The last possible turn-off will be shown to you
shortly beforehand.
This information is still displayed if you have
called up another application on the Control
Display.
Detour selection
1. Select the symbol: "Detour".
"Dynamic guidance" is activated for the
current route guidance.
Dynamic route planning
If "Dynamic guidance" is selected, the route is
changed automatically in the event of traffic
obstructions. The system does not indicate
traffic obstructions on the original route.
Depending on the class of road and the type
and length of the obstruction, the newly com-
puted route can also guide you through the traf-
fic obstruction.
Country-specific information via BMW
Online*
Country-specific information, such as speed
limits on B roads, can be transferred via BMW
Online, see page
173 .
