File the telephone console (22) at the bottom
opening for the cable passage (40) in the
hatched area to prevent the cable being
crushed.
The telephone console is to be installed as
described in the installation instructions entitled
”Telephone console installation kit for the BMW
3 Series E46/4 LHD”, order No. 01 29 9 415

Align the mounting plate (3) on the trim (23) as
shown in the figure and mark and drill the
required securing points (40) as described in the
installation instructions entitled ”Telephone
console installation kit for the BMW 3 Series
E46/4 LHD”, order No. 01 29 9 415 353. Mark the
required holes and drill them with a 3 mm drill
bit.
The speech input key can also be affixed on
the side of the selector lever cover or on the
décor trip on the right next to the steering wheel.
Ensure that the cable is not damaged.
Thread branch

for the speech input key (27)
through the opening (27) in the trim (23) and
secure it as described in the installation
instructions entitled ”Telephone console
installation kit for the BMW 3 Series E46/4 LHD”,
order No. 01 29 9 415 353.
Then align the speech input key (27) in the
centre of the area marked in grey (41) and
secure it with the adhesive patch (28).
