Failure of Hill Start Control
Risk of accident
Apply the brakes manually
to hold the vehicle.
Hill Start Control is purely
a comfort system to facil-
itate holding the machine and
pulling way on uphill gradients
and should not be confused
with a parking brake.
Apply firm pressure to hand-
brake lever

or to the foot-
brake lever and then quickly
release the lever.

Hill Start Control is activated.
To switch off Hill Start
Control, operate handbrake
lever

or the footbrake lever
again.

Alternatively, ride off in 1st or
2nd gear.
In order for the motor-
cycle to pull away from
rest with Hill Start Control, the
throttle grip has to be turned to
open the throttle for pullaway.
Once the brake has been
fully released, the holding
symbol disappears.
Hill Start Control is deactiv-
ated.
