If the assay demands a specific wavelength to be measured, this can be carried out by having a filter in front
of the measurement channel. And if the demand is to measure two different wavelengths, this can be carried
out by including a dichroic mirror and a second filter in front of the emission channel B, for example BRET
assays. (figure 22).

Module
AlphaScreen
®
is a unique assay technology that measures the interaction of two molecules bioconjugated to
donor and acceptor beads. When interactions occur between these molecules, the beads are brought close
enough to cause a chemical reaction. Upon laser excitation at 680 nm, a singlet oxygen transfer occurs that
leads to a strong light emission between 520 to 620 nm, which is directly proportional to the amount of
binding (figure 23).
