USING THE MICROWAVE OVEN
This chapter contains useful information on how to
use the oven.
1. Connect the power cord to a mains power outlet.
2. After placing the food in a suitable container, open
the oven door and place the container on the
glass tray. The latter along with the turntable ring
must always be in place during cooking.
3. Close the door. Ensure that it is closed properly.
When the oven door is open, the light goes out.
The oven door can be opened at any time during
use simply by pulling on it. The oven will then
switch off automatically.
4. Selecting each function
MICROWAVE cooking
• Place the variable power selector on the
required power level setting.
• The above values may vary by ±6%.
GRILL cooking
• Place the power selector in the
(grill)
position..
COMBINED cooking
• Place the power selector in the
(combi)
position..
5. Set the cooking time by turning the timer knob
and microwave cooking will start.
• To set a cooking time of less than two minutes,
turn the knob beyond the 2 minute mark, then
move back to the required duration.
• For a given duration, the timer knob rotation
angle will be less for the period from 35 to 10
minutes than for the period from 10 to 0 minutes,
as the timer motor is a two-speed one.
6. Microwave emissions are automatically cut off
when the timer reaches the “OFF” position. Food
can then be removed from the oven.
• To prevent the microwave oven from operating
with the door open, it is fitted with a safety
interlock feature.
• To take a look at the food during cooking, simply
open the door. The oven automatically stops
cooking. To resume cooking, simply close the
door again.
• To stop cooking, turn the timer knob back to the
“OFF” position. The oven can be reset at any
time during the cooking cycle by turning the
timer knob.
• Never leave the timer running after removing the
food from the oven or when there is nothing left
in it.
7. NOTE: When using GRILL or COMBI modes:
• Avoid opening the door too often as the
temperature inside the oven will fall and cooking
may not finish on time.
• Never touch the door window and the metal
interior of the oven when placing food in the
oven or removing it, as the temperature inside
the oven and inside of the door can become very
hot.
• When using these modes, be careful as the
glass tray can become very hot. Always use
oven gloves or hot pads to handle it.
