Radio Data System (RDS) with
EON

More and more radio stations in the FM range
transmit additional information in parallel to
their radio programme via the Radio Data
Service. If your radio is equipped with the
corresponding features this can offer you
considerable advantages.
Your car radio can make use of this additional
data. The data transmitted by the stations
serve to

recognize and indicate the programme
and the name of the programme (e.g.
BBC2)

to search automatically and to switch to
a frequency offering better reception of
the same programme (AF alternative
frequency)

identify traffic programme stations and
to

identify and reproduce traffic announce-
ments of the broadcaster even though
your radio is tuned to a radio network
without traffic messages. For example,
you are listening to BBC2 and your
radio gives you the traffic announce-
ments aired by the local radio program-
me GLR (RDS/EON).

activate the announcement pick-up
(ARI priority) in CD mode.
