The default password is RD. If you do not know the password, initialize the stat mux
via the INIT/NOR jumper.
4. The stat mux displays the Main Menu. Use Figure 3-6 to plan your configuration actions. Record the
configuration on the form given in
Appendix B
. Keep the filled-out form for reference.
IMPORTANT
Each configuration change takes effect immediately. Each time you change one of the
communication parameters of the sub-channel you use now, you must immediately
change the corresponding communication parameter of your terminal to the same
value. If you don’t, you lose communication with the stat mux. If you make an error
that you cannot correct, initialize the stat mux again with the INIT/NOR jumper and
start again.

The following actions require an operating link to the remote stat mux. In addition, the INIT/NOR jumper of
the remote stat mux must not be in the INIT position.
1. Transfer the local configuration to the remote stat mux to make it available to the remote operator
whenever necessary. Use
Transfer Configuration from Local to Remote
, selected from the Remote STM
Configuration menu.
2. Prepare the configuration for the remote stat mux on the local terminal. Use
Prepare Remote STM
Configuration
, selected from the Remote STM Configuration menu.
3. Transfer the remote stat mux configuration to the remote stat mux and activate it. Use
Activate Remote
STM Configuration
, selected from the Remote STM Configuration menu.
4. To check the remote stat mux configuration, transfer it to the local stat mux. Use
Transfer Configuration
from Remote to Local
, selected from the Remote STM Configuration menu, then select
Examine
. If
everything is OK, store the remote configuration in the local stat mux, using
Save in Local STM
.
