CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW
2.4 HARDWARE DESCRIPTION
2.4.1 1000BASE-T PORTS
The RJ-45 ports on the switch support automatic MDI/MDI-X operation, auto-negotiation, and IEEE 802.3x auto-negotiation of flow
control; it selects the optimum data rate and transmission automatically.
2.4.2 SFP TRANSCEIVER SLOTS
The Gigabit Managed Ethernet Switch supports Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver slots. In the default configuration, if an
SFP transceiver (purchased separately) is installed in a slot and has a valid link on the port, the associated RJ-45 port is disabled.
The following table shows a list of transceiver types that have been tested with the switch.

2.4.3 PORT AND SYSTEM STATUS LEDS
The Gigabit Managed Ethernet Switch switch includes a display panel for system and port indications that simplify installation and
network troubleshooting. The LEDs are located on left hand side of the front panel for easy viewing. Details are shown below and
described in the following tables.
